Bourne in 1960
Greetings cards were still popular in 1960 and the
Royal Mail could be
depended on to deliver next day. This was a popular postcard
sold in Bourne at that time showing scenes from the town
including North Street and the Angel Hotel with a lone car
parked outside, Abbey Road, completely free of traffic,
the Bourne Eau in South Street and the War Memorial
Gardens that had been completed only a few years before.
The black cat was reproduced on many postcards at that time
indicating good luck.
