Field Boxmore Labels

One of Britain's biggest producers of labels has been operating in Bourne for almost 20 years. The company, Field Boxmore Labels, was originally Tudor Labels Limited but the name was changed to its present designation in 2000 when it was taken over by the Field Group.

The business was formed as a limited company in 1984 and moved to a purpose built factory in Cherryholt Road in 1985 where a second stage of expansion was complete three years later and a final phase in 1990. Multi-peel labelling systems were introduced in 1991. In 1987, the business became the first reel-fed self-adhesive printing company in the U K to be awarded BS5750 and an addendum followed in 1992 for the manufacture of pharmaceutical self-adhesive labels.

Field Boxmore became part of Field Packaging in August 1997 and the Field Group was acquired by Chesapeake Corporation in February 1999. Other innovations followed with the introduction of digital label press manufacturing and multi-page label systems later the same year.

The firm now employs around 60 people on the production of specialised labels for the agrochemical, pharmaceutical and health care industries and in October 2000, was awarded an Investors in People accreditation.
